Myocardial ischemia does harm to the life and health of human severely. In recent years, therapies for myocardial ischemia have been improved greatly. But medication has its side effects and arouses drug resistance. The cost of operative treatment is expensive and some patients'health condition is not suitable for surgery. According to the effects such as analgesia and reducing oxygen consumption by myocardium, provoked by spinal cord electrical stimulation, and the principle of neurogenic neuroprotective electrical stimulation to the cerebellar fastigial nucleus, therapy apparatus for myocardial ischemia based on spinal cord stimulation and fastigial nucleus stimulation, was designed. After analyzing the spectrum of a group of signals, non-polar differential exponent pulse signal was selected as carrier wave, which can separate therapy threshold and ache threshold. Utilizing the technology of autocorrelation, random signal was chosen as the modulating wave, which can solve the problem of adaptability for simulating waves to body. The apparatus applies the framework of distributed control system, personal computer used as the host machine, AT89S51 microcontroller system as the extension set, and communication between them standard serial port adopted. The application software running on the personal computer provides function of therapy operation interface and database management. Receiving the command word from host machine via serial port, AT89S51 controls the peripheral circuit to realize the therapy function. Complex programmable logic device generates two groups of carrier waveform and the pulse for controlling the polarity of the waves constant current source. The prototype instrument's technical parameters included: (1) The electrical stimulation wave is constant current output (2) Spinal cord electrical stimulation group: maximal amplitude of output current is less than or equal 30mA(Itop 30mA), mean output current is less than or equal 4.5mA(Imean 4.5mA) Fastigial nucleus electrical stimulation group: maximal amplitude of output current is less than or equal 20mA(Itop 20mA), mean output current is less than or equal 4.5mA(Imean 3mA) (3) The maximal amplitude of output voltage is less than or equal 35V (4) Random signal modulating electrical stimulation waves To evaluate the therapeutic effect on cardiovascular disease, the clinical experiments on 10 myocardial ischemia patients, whose ST-T of electrocardiogram is different from normal people, were conducted using the therapy apparatus. The result shows that after 1~3 periods of treatment, 86% of the patients'main symptom gets better, and 86% of the patients'ST-T of electrocardiogram gets improvement. That means the treatment can lighten the degree of myocardial ischemia. Furthermore, it does not evoke obvious side effect.
