Objective: To examine the content of MT and trace element in plants and observed the effect of MT on cadmium-induced oxidative damages in kidney of mice. Method: A technology of AAS method and Cd-Rb method were used to examine the content of MT and trace element in plants. Then do animal experiments. Kun ming mice were randly divided into six groups , one negative group and one positive group and four control groups. The extract of MT of plants were used to resist the effect of cadmium-induced oxidative damage in kidney of mice. 14 days later, the contents of MT and trace element and MDA (malondiasldehyde) and SOD (superoxide dismutase) were examined. Single cell gel electrophoresis experiment was used to test the damage of DNA in peripheral blood lymphocytes, at the same time the pathomorphologic damage of kidneywere observed. Result: (1) twenty plants all contain MT.(2)the content of trace element (Zn,Cu) have relativity with MT in twenty plants (p<0.05).(3)The pathomorphology of kidney of mice of control groups were renovated.(4)SOD and MDA of control groups in kidney and liver and serum have distinctly been changed compared with positive group(p<0.05).(5)The contents of MT in livers of mice of control groups were enhanced obviously compared with positive and negative groups (p<0.05).(6)Trace element in livers of control groups mice were promoted (p<0.05).(7)The ratio of damage of lymph cell all were lowered in control groups compared with positive group (p<0.05).Conclusion: Twenty plants which were examined all containe MT. Extract of MT of plants can renovated the cadmium-induced damage of kidney and liver in mice.
