Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Huan gongzhitong granule to treat dysmenorrhea of qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome and its mechanism. Method: 52 patients with dysmenorrhea of qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into two groups: 32 patients with Huan gongzhitong granule-treated group and 20 patients with Yuan huzhitong drop pill-controlled group .with duration of three months respectively, Dysmenorrhea syndrome score were collected to evaluate the clinical effects and the blood samples were collected to evaluate the effect of E2(Estradiol) P(Progesterone) of Huan gongzhitong granule -treated group and Yuan huzhitong drop pill -controlled group. Result: (1)After therapy, two groups can all alleviate the clinical symptoms(P>0.05). (2)The change of Dysmenorrhea syndrome score had no difference in both Huan gongzhitong granule-treated group and Yuan huzhitong drop pill-controlled group (P>0.05).(3)E2 (Estradiol)of huan Gongzhitong granule -treated group was accompanied by a significant decrease and marked increase of P(Progesterone) in comparison to Yuan huzhitong drop pill-controlled group(P<0.05). (4)Single factor analysis showed that Dysmenorrhea syndrome score had remarkable positive correlation with E2(Estradiol) and had obvious negative correlation with P(Progesterone). Conclusion: (1)huan Gongzhitonggranule can alleviate clinical symptoms of dysmenorrhea of qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome. (2) The mechanism of relieving pain with huan Gongzhitong granule may have correlation with decrease of E2(Estradiol) and increase of P(Progesterone).
