Objective To study the significance of macrophage(cd68), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression and their relationship in Leiomyoma and Leiomyosarcoma of gastrointestinal tract. Methods By using immunohistochemical SP method, the detecting and analysis of VEGF and macrophage were investigated in cases of 74 tumors and 22 normal tissues and compare the relation of which.Result The positive expression of CD68 in Leiomyoma was 82. 22%, higher than 37.93% in Leiomyosarcoma and 22.73% in nomal tissues (P<0.05); The positive expression of CD68 in the terms of transfer was lowerthan the term of non-transfer in the Leiomyosarcoma (P<0. 05), but in the terms of different size of tumors and the terms of putrescence/nonputrescence, there have no prominent difference (P>0. 05). The positive expression of VEGF was 22.22%, lower than 82.76% in Leiomyosarcoma (P<0. 05) ;The expression of CD68 was correlated with VEGF (r_s=-0. 7292 and 0.6998 P<0.05) in Leiomyoma and Leiomyosarcoma. Conclusion The overexpression of CD68 and lowexpression of VEGF was found in Leiomyoma while The overexpression of VEGF and lowexpression of CD68 existed in Leiomyosarcoma, there have negative-correlation between the expression of CD68 and VEGF. which has some referent-value in the judgement of malignant-degree in Leiomyoma and Leiomyosarcoma of gastrointestinal tract.
