| Objective:The positive rates of Epstein-Barr virus were high in nasal NK/T cell lymphoma ,but the exactly role of Epstein-Barr virus in nasal NK/T cell lymphoma is unknown. This experiment try to investigate the expressions of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) latent membrane protein 1(LMP-1),nuclear factor κ gene binding(NF-κB)and the apoptotic index(AI) in nasal NK/T cell lymphoma, and probe into the correlation of LMP-1 with NF-κB,AI,analyze their roles in the occurrence and development of nasal NK/T cell lymphomaMethods:From 1999 to 2004 ,26 cases of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma and 10 cases of benign lymph follicle hyperplasia were selected from Department of Pathology in Hospital of Shangdong province . The tissues covered with wax block were bitted biopsy or operated from patients. All of them were confirmed by pathobiology .The expressions of LMP-1 andNF-κB were detected by immunohisto chemical technique when the apoptosis status were studied by TdT-mediated dDUTP-FITC nick end-labelling (TUNEL) method in all cases. Compare to the expressions of LMP-1,NF-κB and AI in the experiment group and control group .Results: In nasal NK/T cell lymphoma, the positive rates of LMP-1 and NF-κB were 69.2%(18/26),65.4%(17/26) when AI was 2.31±0.38;In benign lymph follicle hyperplasia, the positive rasts of LMP-1,NF- κB ,AI were 10%(1/10), 30%(3/10), 3.12±0.45 respectively. The expression intensity of LMP-1 was significantly positiverelated to that of NF- KB(P=0.001,r=0.686) but was inversely correlated with apoptotic index (p=0.0001)among 26 cases of nasal NK/T cell lymphomas. Conclusions :The pathogenesis and the regulation of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma were complex process,in which, the latent infection of EBV might be play an important role. The increase of NF- kB may be a key factor of inhibiting apoptosis of tumor cells .LMP-1 was likely to have internal relation with NF- kB and they worked on each otherThe infection of EBV increases the expeession of LMP-1,that might still play an important role in the pathogensis and development of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma ,mainly through promote the overexpression of NF- kB to inhibit the apoptosis of tumor cells. |
