Objective: Resistin is an endocrine hormone which is excreted and expressed exclusively by adipocyte. The relation between resistin and coronary atherosclerosis is not yet reported national or abroad . The main objective of this study is to observe the levels of human serum resistin in patients with CHD,the level of hs-CRP are examined,the correlation between resistin and hs-CRP to be investigated, to discuss whether there exists a relationship between resistin and hs-CRP and the degree of coronary artery stenosis.To provide an useful evidence for precaution and therapy to CHD.Methods:The concentration of serum resistin were measured with ELIS A in patients who had made an examination of angiography. Immune turbidimetry were applied to measure the levels of serum hs-CRP . Results:1. The mean concentration of serum resistin in patients which were no narrow confirmed by coronary angiography was 1.645±1.112ng/ml.In patients which coronary angiographic stenosis degree <50% and >75%,the mean concentration of serum resistin was 1.595±1.286ng/ml and 0.958±0.511ng/ml , respectively.Resistin Levels were positively associated with the degree of coronary artery stenosis (p=0.024).Resistin levels were also associated with hs-CRP levels(r=0.271,p=0.04).2. The serum levels of hs-CRP in patient which coronary angiographic narrow degree > 75% are higher than that in patient which coronary angiographic narrow degree < 50% and no narrow .The level of hs-CRP 24-48 hours after PCI ,was remarkably increased(P < 0.01)Conclusion:1. Serum resistin levels was an predictive quantitative index of coronary atherosclerosis and correlated with the markers of inflammation,independent of hs-CRP.Further studies were needed to determine the relationship of resistin to clinical cardiovascular disease.2. There is higher hs-CRP level in CHD patients ,this prove there is a low degree chronic inflammation status in CHD patients body,also testify chronic inflammationof the vascular endothelial memebrane do play an important role in the pathogenesis of CHD;in clinical doctor can select different therapeutic methods towards different patients ,antibiotics can be used to treat patients who have higher hs-CRP level.
