Clinical Study Of The Anto-immunity Of Shen Shi Tong Luo Method In Treating Lumbar Disc Herniation

ObjectiveTO observe the effectiveness of the Anto-immunity of Shen Shi Tong Luo method in treating Lumbar Disc Herniation (LDH).Methods43 patients with LDH (Han Shi Bi Zu type) were divided randomly into two groups (testing group n=22, control group n=21) from February 2005 to December 2005. 22 patients in testing group per os Shen Shi Tong Luo formula Treatments were help one dosis per day and 4 weeks a session. 21 patients in control group per os Yao Tong Ning caps. Treatments were help 4 pill per day and 4 weeks a session. Clinical assessment scale for low lumbar pain (LLP) of JOA evaluate the ability, symptoms and sign before and after treatment. All patients pain scale, both in testing group and in control group, were measured by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) before and after the treatment. And detecting content of IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α,IigM\ IgG, IgA in 43 patients and healthy group (30 volunteers) serum. The records was analyzed under statistics analysis.Results1 Shen Shi Tong Luo method in treating LDH (Han Shi Bi Zu type) gain fairly marked therapeutic effect (total effective rate is 90.91%).2 Clinical assessment scale for low lumbar pain of JOA evaluate the ability, symptoms and sign before and after treatment. Accumulated points of JOA improve evident in both testing group and control group. Testing group remain a better score of improvement (P<0.05).3 Improvement of ache in testing group and in control group post-treatment was better than pretherapy (P<0.01). Improvement of ache in testing group was better than in control group (P<0.05).4 Contents of IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, IgG in patients serum were higher than healthy group (30 volunteers) serum (P<01, P0.05).5 Contents of IL-lp\ TNF-a were lower in testing group patients serum post-treatmentwas better than pretherapy (/><0.01).6 Pain of patients with LDH was depended on contents of IL-lp\ TNF-a in numerical value (PO.01).ConclusionCilical study proves that the effect of Shen Shi Tong Luo method in treating LDH was sign. The VAS scale shows that Shen Shi Tong Luo method is an idea means of reducing pain. Immunological regulation was one of the mechanisms of Shen Shi Tong Luo method in treating LDH.
