Objective: To investigate the plasma levels and significant of MDA and IL-6, CRP in uremia patients, and analyze its correlativity. Methods: 30 unhemodialysis patients, 35 hemodialysis patients and 30 normal adults were enrolled in the study. The plasma levels of Malondialdehyde (MDA) and C reaction protein ( CRP) were measured by thiobarbituric acid reaction substrate (TGARs) and rate nephelometry respectively, and IL-6 by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The levels of albumin (AIb) and creatinine (SCr) were tested by automatic biochemical analysor, and those of hemoglobin (Hb)by regular method. The hemodialysis patients were divided into CRP<5mg.L-1 group and CRP>5mg.L-1 group. The associations between CRP and IL-6, AIb, Hb, SCr were analyzed respectively. Date was expressed as mean ± standard deviation ( x ± s ) . Statistical analysis was performed by t test and coefficient of correlativity (r).Result: 1. The plasma levels of MDA, CRP and IL-6 in hemodialysis group were significantly increased , compared with those of unhemodialysis group and control group (p<0.01). The plasma level of MDA was significantly higher in unhemodialysis group than that in control group (p<0.01). 2 In hemodialysis group,CRP and IL-6 were negative correlation to AIb (r=-0.74 ,r= -0.74, P< 0.01 )and Hb (r= -0.53, r= -0.58 P<0.01).No correlations were found between CRP, IL-6 and SCr . 3 In hemodialysis group, MDA was positive correlations to CRP and IL-6 (r=0.80, r=0.71,P<0.01 ) Conclusion: 1. MDA and CRP, IL-6 may be the better markers of oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction. 2 .In hemodialysis group, the levels of MDA and IL-6 , CRP are significantly elevated. MDA is positive correlation to IL-6, CRP. 3. IL-6 and CRP are negative correlation to nutrition status and anemia.
