Studies On The Ingredients Of The Folk Medicine From QinLing Mountains

Iris dichotoma Pall.is the plant of the genus Iris which belongs to Iridaceae family. Many rhizomatous crude drugs from Iris are regional herbs and folk medicines. Most of these crude drugs have the action of clearing heat and detoxifying, eliminating the phlegm, which are used for treating swelling and pain in the throat, cough and dysphea. They can also promote digesting and relieve dyspepsia. Up to date, the compounds isolated from genus Iris are reported to have piscicidal, antineoplastic, antioxidant, antitumor, antiplasmodial, and antituberculosis properties.Iris dichotoma Pall.is one of the regional herb in Qinling Mountains, Shaanxi.It mainly acts as an anti-inflammation in that region. To seek active components and develop more efective therapeutic drugs, we carried out studies as follow:1. Review Present an extensive review on chemical components and Pharmacological action of Iris plants.2. Study on the components of roots and rhizomes. This paper focused on chemical studies on the efective extraction of rhizome. Seven compounds were isolated and purified. On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMBC, HMQC, H-H COSY,and NOESY etc) ,two of them were elucidated as follow: 5, 4'-dihy droxyl-7-rnethoxy-isoflavone-6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside;5, 6, 4'-trihydroxyl-7-methoxy-isoflavone. and five of them were being elucidated now.3. Based on previous work, one new isoflavone glycoside was identified by means of spectral data (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMBC, HMQC and NOESY): 5, 4'-dihydroxyl-7-methoxy-isoflavone-6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside。...
