Solanum nigrum polysaccharide(SNPS) is a kind of substance that is extracted bywater and precipitated by ethanol. This assay mainly studies the activation of the substance onthe basis of large numbers of animal experiment. We try to prove that Solanum nigrumpolysaccharide is effective in controlling tumors and plays an important role in regulating theimmune system. Then I will explore its mechanism.Immunocompetence: the mice were treated with different dosages of stomach-perusionfor twenty days. Compared with the contrasting group, the Solanum nigrum polysaccharidecan remarkably increase the number of splenocyte created by the mouse antibody(low, middle, high dosage), the phagocytic index of mouse apoposis and the weight of the mouse spleen andthymus gland apparatus(low, middle, high dosage). The results show that the Solanum nigrumpolysaccharide has a stronger adjusting effect on humoral immunity and a certain extentadjusting effect on apoposis phagocytosis. At the same time, the immuno suppressive functionhas not been found in any group with different dosages.Antitumour effect: The mice which had been inoculated tumour were divided into 5groups at random. Each group had 10 mice, which male and female were 5 respectively.Treated by gastrogavage for successive 5 days, all the mice were killed when the medicaltreatment was stopped for 24 hours. Then we weighed the mice, peeled off the endermicstructure of mice' right oxter, extirpated the tumour and weighed it, mensurated thebiochemistry parameters. Results: Even with low dosage SNPS has a remarkable impact onrestraining the cancer cell of the mouse, SNPS can prolong the life of S180 mice with tumourand increase the phagocytic index (a), expurgation index (k) and thymus coefficient. Thisdrug can also enhance the lymphocyte transformation function in vitro. Conclusion: SNPS isobviously effective in antitumour and immunocompetence.
