Objective: To study the effect of variable pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser on port wine stain(PWS). Methods: We chose the Leghorn combs as the model and treated with variable pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser, then observed the morphological and histological change of the combs. At the same time, we collected the PWS patients treated in our outpatient service from JUNE 20005 to FEB.2006, to observethe clinical effect of this laser. Result: The animal tests showed that the changes of the combs in morphology and histology was obvious, for example,the vascular is less than before and the vascular layer is shallowed. We analysis the data and found that the result have the change (P<0.05). And the clinical observation showed that after 2-4 times treatment 94.7% patients has change in variable level. Conclusion: Variable pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser can be used in the treatment of PWS and the result is good.
