Objective: To assess the risk factors of postphiebitic syndrome (PS) after deep vein thrombosis of legs. Method: 102 DVT of legs patients of the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from the year 2001 to 2005 were selected. Data analyzed by single factor analysis and COX analysis. Result: Ratio of PS is 67.60%, single factor analysis shows: sex, anticoagulation, elastic-stocking therapy, degree of leg exercises, INR, WBC, PT%, FIB are related to the occurrence of PS.COX regression shows that anticoagulation, the degree of leg exercise, elastic-stocking therapy are related to PS. Conclusion: DVT is a result effected by multi-factors. Whether elastic-stocking and anticoagulation as well as the degree of leg exercises after hospital discharge will be continued to the PS. the earlier elastic- stocking therapy, anticoagulation and take active exercises of legs will be benefit to reduce the PS after the DVT.
