Objective: Sodium ferulate is a compond sodium salt of ferulate, which was proved to be a protector of the epithelial cells of blood vessel. It can remove free radical, prevent lipid over oxydation injury, antagonize vascular contraction, blood pressure elevation and the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle. There is still no conclusion on the relation between sodium ferulate and renal interstitial fibrosis. To investigate the renoprotective effect of endothelin receptor antagonist sodium ferulate on rats with interstitial fibrosis following unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO), the expression of transforming growth factor(TGF-β1),p-p38MAPK and alpha smooth muscular actin(α-SMA) in tubular epithelial cells were detected and the effect of sodium ferulate on their expression and the processing of renal interstitial fibrosis were assessed.Method:We selected 36 sprague-dawley(SD) rats, with their body weight between 180g to 220g,which were allocated randomly and evenly into sham-operated group(A),UUO model group(B) and sodium ferulate treated(110mg/Kg/d) group(C).Under pentobarbitale sodium anesthesia, the left ureter was ligated with 0 silk at two pionts and cut between the...
