The Experiment Study Of The Decreasing Toxicity And Increasing Efficacy On The Compatibility Of Nux Vomica Powder

Nux vomica powder is recorded in "Pharmacopoeia ofChinese Nation". It has the functions of dispelling rheumatismand freeing passages in your body. It can be used treatbuttock-ache, lumbago, ache all over and limb atrophy, etc. Thetoxicity of Nux vomica is violent, and the amount of poisoning isnear the amount of treatment. We studied this subject in orderto verify its increasing efficacy and decreasing toxicity throughthe compatibility of Nux Vomica and earthworm. The study ofthis subject is for making sure the rules of process of preparingthe Nux Vomica, and also for making sure the function ofdecreasing toxicity on the compatibility of Nux vomica powderthrough experiment of acute toxicity and the little white mice'sactivity. Meanwhile, through the experiment of reducing painand resistance to inflammation, we will tell the change ofefficacy of Nux vomica and Nux vomica powder for expound theincreasing efficacy on the compatibility of Nux vomica powder.The experiment showed that Nux vomica LD₅₀ is 183.65mg/kg, Nux vomica Powder LD₅₀ is 205.73mg/kg. The times of the little white mice's activity increased with their eating Nux vomica, and with their eating Nux vomica powder, the activity of the mice is fewer. It showed that the toxicity decreased through the compatibility of Nux vomica and earthworm. On the other hand, the efficacy of Nux vomica powder is better than the one of Nux vmica in reducing pain and resistance to inflammation. It showed that the efficacy of treatment increased through the compatibility of Nux vomica and earthworm.The result of experiment in this subject has proved thatNux vomica powder has the functions of.increasing efficacy and decreasing toxicity. It provided the bases for the compatibility of Chinese medicine from the experimental angle, and provided pharmacological bases for using the Nux vomica powder in clinical practice from now on.
