Chloranthus japonicus Sieb is a kind of perennial herbaceous plant, which belongs to the family of Chloranthaceae. Chloranthus japonicus Sied has been widely used to treat cold rheum, injuries from falls, fracture, rheumatism ache, pulmonary tuberculosis, neurasthenic, impaludism, etc. in the civilian society of China. It mainly grows in shady places, including hillside, valley, tussock, etc. Chloranthus japonicus Sieb has comprehensively distributed in many places in China, including Heilongjiang, Jilin, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong, Shanxi, Gansu, etc.Chloranthus japonicus Sieb is very rich in the plant resources in China. However, for the long time, this plant has not been exploited and utilized availably by people. For better illumination medical substance basis on treating cancer, we have studies on chemical constituents of 50% ethanol elution section of macroporous absorption resin for Chloranthus japonicus Sieb by silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and HPLC preparation chromatography. As a result, 10 compounds have been isolated and the chemical structures of 8 compounds were fully determined by 1D and 2D NMR such as 1H-NMR,13C-NMR, DEPT,1H-1HCOSY,HSQC and HMBC ,etc, combined with ESI-MS and HR-ESI-MS,UV,IR and chemical methods. The compounds are 2 coumarins, 3 lignans, 3 sesquiterpences, which contain 5 new compounds and 2 compounds were separated from the Chloranthus japonicus Sieb for the first time. five new compounds were named asYinxiancaoside A, Yinxiancaoside B, Yinxiancaoside C, Yinxiancaoside D and Yinxiancaoside E, respectively. Our studies have illustrated the constituents of elution parts in Chloranthus japonicus Sieb and provided valuable scientific basis for treating cancer for Chloranthus japonicus Sied. The rich natural resources of Chloranthus japonicus Sieb should be fully developed and used.
