| Objective This study measured pancreatic ultrasonic integrated backscatter (IBS) in healthy adults and patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus by ultrasonic tissue characterization technique for the 85diagnosis of different pancreatic disorders, and explored the clinical value of IBS on detecting pancreas in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim is to provide a new technical method for the clinical to assess the pathological changes of pancreatic parenchyma accurately and objectively, and to set up a new criterion of digital quantification on detecting pancreas of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods 120 healthy adults cases were divided into 2 groups according to their age(<50 years old, n=65;≥50 years old, n=55), and another 2 groups by dissimilarity sex(male, n= 58; female, n=62).110 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus cases were classified into 2 groups according to the duration of the disease(diabetic duration<10 years, n=53; diabetic duration≥10 years, n=57), and another 2 groups by the treatment of the disease(prandial glucose regulation and/ or oral drugs therapy, n=58; insulin therapy, n=52). 2D ultrasound examination and on-line analysis of IBS on pancreas were performed in 120 healthy adults and 110 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Placed the ROI in the head, the body and the tail of the pancreas and the real values of IBS were standardized by average TGC values measured... |
