Diabetes Mellitus(DM) is a common endocrine metabolic disease. With the rapidly increased prevalence of diabetes mellitus, diabetes is seriously harm to people's health, and its treatment is still a serious problem.The microencapsulated islets transplantation which was researched and developmented in recent years has been proved as an effective treatment of diabetes. It's principles is to produce a small arteries using non-toxic materials of macromolecular polymers.which function as a semiper-meable membrane ,and islet cells are encapsulated with it. The encapsulated islet cells can achieve nutrition through the semiper-meable membrane, and the secretion of bio-reactive substances may also be diacharged through the membrane.At the same time the large molecules of the immune reactive substances such as immune cells, immune globulin.etal, can not pass though the membrane.
