Background and objectiveGastric carcinoma (GC) or gastric adenocarcinoma is a malignant neoplasm derived from stomach glandular epithelia, and has been recognized as the second malignant tumor in incidence and mortality worldwide . According to the locations of the tumors, it can be named as distal end GC and gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA). In the past several decades, the overall incidence of GC has been decreased, yet the proportion of GCA in GC has been increased greatly. Nowadays, surgical resection is considered as the only effective and curative therapy. The five-year survival rate for early GCA patients is more than 90% after surgical treatment. However, the rate for middle and advanced stage patients is less than 10%. Thus, early molecular biological indicators for GC diagnosis is the pivotal prognosis factors, and so far, to find out biomarkers for diagnosis of GC is to be a hotspot and a trend in GC researches. Systematic research for malignant tumor in the past confirmed that the occurrence of malignant tumor is a progressive process of multiple-factors, multiple-stages, multiple-genes, and so is GC. And now the occurrence of GC is considered to be related to helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection, environmental conditions, and genetic backgrounds. All kinds of injurious factors can result in the...
