Objective: To explore changes in the immunologic function ,allergy reaction test in vitro and lung function of recurrent respiratory tract infection (RRTI) children of different age groups and with or without wheezing symptom in order to provid basic information for the rational therapy of RRTI.Methods: 543 RRTI children were divided into five groups according to their ages: Group A: children of 1-6 months old, Group B: children of 7-12 months old, Group C: children of 1-3 years old, Group D: children of 4-7 years old, Group E: children of 8-14 years old. At the same time, they were divided into wheezing and no wheezing group according to whether having developed the wheezing symptom. T cell subsets (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD4/CD8), immunoglobulin (IgA, IgG, IgM), allergy reaction test in vitro (Phadiatop test , sIgE test to dust mite(d1), Fx5E test, serum total IgE(TIgE)) and tidal breathing lung function(TBFVL and related parameters) were studied. Results: (1) The rate of IgG lower than normal in Group A is significantly higher than in other groups, so are the rate of IgA lower than normal in Group B, C, D and rate of IgM lower than normal in Group C, D,E. The values of CD4/CD8 in Group A and B are 1.75 and 1.58 respectively , which are much lower than the normal value 2.1-2.2, while the values of CD4/CD8 in C, D, E group are approximately around normal. In Group A, the value of CD4/CD8 (1.58±0.34) of the wheezing group is lower than both that of no wheezing group ( 1.81±0.61) and normal value 2.1. In Group E, the value of CD4/CD8 (1.67±0.19) of wheezing group is higher than both that of no wheezing group(1.40±0.32)and normal value 1.3. (2) Group D and E have a significantly rise in the positive rate of Phadiatop and d1; Group C and D have a significantly rise in the the positive rate of Fx5E and TIgE. In all the groups except Group A, the positive rate of phadiatop, Fx5E and TIgE in wheezing group is higher than that in no wheezing...
