This dissertation is putted in practice guided by the basic theory of TCM and traditional processing technique of Chinese traditional medicine with consulting medicine books, herbal and processing monographs, footnotes from the past dynasties. To form the modern research summarize of Fructus Arctii by studying and cleaning up its historal evolution. Meanwhile investigate the chemical content transformation systemically during processing, applying modern technologies. To select the optimal method through comparing several kinds of processing methods from landscape orientation.Then optimize the technology of processing Fructus Arctii by Orthogonal Experimental Design.The content of arctiin and arctigenin in processed product was used to detect the factor levels. Select the four factors with three levels each factors. The results shows that the best processing condition and determine the technological parameter, and carry on the magnify trial.The result shows that the technology is briefhess,steady and viable , can be the optimum processing technology of Fructus Arctii, which offer the reference for industrialized mass production and is propitious to quality standard consolidate. Then according to pharmacopoeia correlative items,constitute the complete quality standard of Fructus Arctii. Establish HPLC fingerprints of Fructus Arcti, probe into processing principle and investigate modern processing method Fructus Arcti.Technology peculiarity and innovate point:1. Adopting advanced method and technology, ascertain the optimum processing technology of Fructus Arctii, with chemical component content as control index.2. Clarify the processing principle of Fructus Arctii by experiment data, with the content of arctiin and arctigenin the as control index.3. The chromatographyic fingerprint of Arctium lappa L. has been established by Reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography-diode-array detection method for several herbs collected from different habitats. Chromatographic conditions were available. Result exhibited that the RP-HPLC fingerprint method is simple, practicable, and reliable, so it was capable of effectively identifying and controlling the quality of Arctium lappa L.
