Serissa serissoides is a perennial herb, one of Serissa, Rubiaceae. It is distributed mainly in southen in our country. The entire plant or roots, is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine. The herb is recorded in Compendium of Materia Medica as "asepsis" and it can be used in etoxification. The water-solved constitute in the roots of Serissa serissoides was found the better inhibition of hepatitis B virus (HBV). And application associated by Hedyotis diffusa Willd. will do more manifest hepatic protection in hepar-injured mice induced separately by tetrachlormethane, acetaminophen and D- aminogalactose. This article studied on the secondary metabolites in different parts of Serissa serissoides plants growing in Huangshan territory in Anhui province. Twelve compounds were isolated from the alcohol extract of the root, stem and leaves of Serissa serissoides by silica gel, polyamide, sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and preparation high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Eleven of them were identified by analysis of their spectral data and physics character. One of them is tetrahydrofurans lignans: Olivil (compound I); five of them are furofurans lignans: (+)-Pinoresinol (compound II), (-)-Syringareinol (compound III), (+)-Medioresinol...
