objective:To explore the drainage, connection with other sinus, chordae in the lumen of superior sagittal sinus, arachnoid granulations and the split stream of torcular herophili.Method:5 cranium specimen.Study the drainage, connection with other sinus and the split stream of torcular herophili after removal of the cranial roof. Endoscopes were inserted into the lumen of the sinus to observe the structures of chordae. Finally, the sinuses were opened for direct observation of the chordae, arachnoid granulations and torcular herophili using standard anatomical methods.65 DSA picture were also the material for the study .choosing the optimal engorge of sinus to study the connection with other sinus in lateral view, the split stream of torcular herophili and the cross-connection of superior cerebral vein, middle cerebral vein and inferior cerebral vein in Town's position view. Finally, pathological section of arachnoid granulations and lamellar chordae were obtained to observe the minute structure. Result: The superior sagittal sinus drains the anterior part of the inferior surface of the frontal lobe and the superior portions of the lateral and medial surfaces of the frontal, parietal, and occipital lobes.the frontal pole vein, anterior frontal vein and middle frontal vein join the anterior segment of superior sagittal sinus. The posterior frontal vein, precentral vein, central vein, postcentral vein and anterior parietal vein join the middle segment of superior sagittal sinus. The posterior parietal vein and occipital vein join the posterior segment of superior sagittal sinus. The veins from each cortical area join the superior sagittal sinus in a characteristic configuration. The veins arising near the frontal pole are directed posteriorly, in the usual direction of flow within the sinus, at their junction with the sinus. Those from the posterior part of the frontal lobe areas join the sinus at approximately a right angle. The veins arising from the parietal...
