Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To make research in the extracorporeal circulation model of chest-opening and non-chest opening with rabbits to find more economical, applicable models for basic research in injuries of such important organs as brain, lung, liver and kidney in CPB.Methods: 30 rabbits were divided into 2 groups randomly: Group A (chest-opened) and Group B (non- chest-opened). CPB is performed in each group for one hour. In and after the performance, test and analysis of arterial pressure, EGG and blood gas are made. Results: CPB model was successfully established in both Group A and B, during CPB process, indexes of haemodynamics and arterial blood gas are normal. After it, normal heart blood vessel and respiratory function are restored. Compared with Group A, at the four time points of CPB 5min, CPB 60min, 60minutes after CPB and after the endotracheal catheter was drawn, hematocrit lowered less (P < 0.05); Heart rate and mean arterial pressure fluctuated less(P < 0.05). Besides, it needed less time and ethylcarbamate than Group A (P < 0.05), and was more successful in establishing the model(Group A 73.3%, Group B 93.3%).Conclusions: CPB model can be successfully established in both group A and B, but B is more easily performed, more economical and applicable, and thus the more ideal model for basic research in CPB.
