Background Cerebrovascular disease (CVD) has been considered to be a kind of vital disease to for its high incidence rate and high disability rate, which has been one of death cause in adult with cardiovascular disease and cancer. Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) is a kind of most common disease of ischemic cerebrovascular disease, the most important treatment is to save the near dying neuron in ischemic penumbra (IP) region, and to promote neurofunctional recovery after brain injury, but the general acknowledged treatment in clinic is really deficiency now. The discovery of neural stem cell (NSC) and the culture successfully in vitro has provided a new idea for functional reconstruction and regeneration of neural cell in adult central nervous system. Present evidence indicates that neurogenesis still occurs in the subventricular zone of the lateral ventricle (SVZ) and the subgranular zone (SGZ) in hippocampus, in addition, neural stem cell can be isolated from spinal cord, septal area, and striatum. This signified that neural stem cell is reside in mammalian central nervous...
