Objective:To quantitatively assess the enhancement effect of the self-made targeted ultrasound contrast agent on the kidneys of undergoing renal ischemia-reperfusion(I-R) injury of rabbits and to investigate the possibility of noninvasive assessment of the degree of tissue inflammation by combining targeted ultrasound contrast imaging with ultrasonic tissue characterization(UTC).Methods:Before the self-made contrast agent targeted to activated neutrophils injection and after injection 15 minutes, harmonic B-mode imaging(HBI) and power Doppler imaging(PDI) of normal kidneys and I-R injured kidneys were applied respectively. Gray scales(GS) of the parenchyma and the proportion of color pixel in total pixel(CP/TP) and color intensity(CI) were quantitatively analysed with quantitative analysis system type DFY. Relations between the ultrasound signal (GS and CP/TP and CI) after injection 15 minutes and mean tissue myeloperoxidase(MPO) activity were made respectively. Results:After the agent injection 15 minutes, GS and CP/TP and CI of normal kidneys were low(compared with GS and CP/TP and CI before injection, P>0.05) . After ischemia-reperfusion, GS and CP/TP and CI...
