Panax Notoginseng (Burk.) F.H. Chen of Araliaceae is known as an important crude drug in traditional Chinese medicines. It is widely used to disperse stasis , stanch bleeding , detumescence , calm ache , risist thrombus and enhance organism immunity . In this paper, 29 samples were collected including 21 Radix Notoginseng samples from different areas and its eight common fakes . The HPLC analysis was performed on the following conditions : a luna C18(2) column (250mm×4.6mm ID,5μm), the mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.05%phosphoric acid gradient elution , the detected wavelength at 203 nm , and caffine as internal standard . The chemical constituents in the methanol extract of them were determined by the method . In 70 minutes , 26 original chemical features as whole were obtained including 12 common chemical features and the chromatogram for 16-28min was significant in feature. By studying the correlation , the precision , the reappearance , the stablity , the exclusiveness and the similarity of the chromatogram , the High Pressure Liquid Chromatograph Fingerprint(HPLC-FP) of Radix Notoginseng was established . For the 29*26 steps data matrix obtained, the cluster anzlysis was done by applying SPSS software , Euclidean as measure and ward's as method .
