Purpose: To investigate the enhancement pattern of various focal hepatic lesions (FHL) by using a new fast gradient-echo MRI sequence—three-dimensional volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (3D-VIBE) to perform multiphasic dynamic scanning for FHL, with correlation of pathological findings, and to address the diagnostic value of 3D-VIBE sequence.Materials and Methods: Comprehensive MR imaging examination was prospectively performed for 123 patients suspected to have focal hepatic lesions on clinical, laboratory and other imaging data. The imaging protocol included axial T2W, axial 2D-T1W plain scan, coronal True-FISP, MRCP, plain 3D-VEBE scan, Gadolinium-enhanced 3D-VIBE triple phasic acquisitions at the early arterial (15s), late arterial (40s) and portal venous phases (65s) respectively, and Gadolinium-enhanced 2D-T1W scan at equilibrium phase (100s). Among them 47 patients (50 lesions) had surgical-pathological findings or clinical follow-up results to prove the diagnosis were finally included into the study. There were 17 patients (20...
