Periodontitis is one of the familiar dental diseases and it is the main reason which leads to tooth loss. It is a complicated and destructive inflammation which is caused by gram-negative anaerobic bacteria. Antimicrobial chemotherapy can be used as an assistant therapeutics. The objective of this study is to observe the antibacterial activities of Chinese medicine cinnamicaldehyde against main periodontal pathogen in vitro.First part :the liquid dilution was used to detect the minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) of cinnamicaldehyde against four bacterium from lab. Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC33277, Fusobacterium nucleatum ATCC10593 ,Actinomyces viscosus ATCC15987 and Streptococcus mutans ATCC25175 were diluted in BHI liquid medium ,the last concentration were 1×10~8CFU/ml. Then we detected the MIC of cinamicaldehyde against the four bacteria from lab.Second part :we chose the clinical periodontal patient which the probing depth was more than 5mm. after removal of suprgingival plaque, three paper points were inserted into a periodontal pocket for 20 s. Then the specimens were anaerobic cultured immediately. Base on its form of colony...
