| Abdominal obesity is also called centrality obesity, which means the fat mainly stores in the belly or the purtenance. Much research have been proved that the people in the Asian-pacific regions are easy to gain the abdominal obesity. So more and more studies focus on it, because it is related to the metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, hypertension and coronary heart disease etc.From the research in the abdominal obesity, we know it can be caused by many factors, such as the gene, age, energy intake, lipoprotein lipase (LPL) reactive and the lipolysis reactive. Currently CT is the golden standard to measure the fat distribution, the fat content, and the waist circumference. It not only reflects the volume of belly fat better, but also makes the things easier. And the waist circumference is broadly applied to the diagnosis of the abdominal obesity, at the same time, it can prognosticate the happening of the hypertension and the diabetes. There are many modem medical treatments for the abdominal obesity, such as the dieting, movement, drugs, surgeries, but most of them have the problems of insisting, rebounding, side-effects, etc. Acupuncture therapy has many advantages such as the individual treatment, definite and consistent effect, and the curative effect to lose weight had been confirmed in the clinic research;acupoint catgut embedding therapy is a brand new treatment with the multiple therapeutic effect, as the development of the acupuncture, this therapy has been comprehensively applied into the medical practice, and gets satisfied results.Objective: This research is to discuss the curative effect of the adjusting the triple energizers embedding therapy for the middle aged person's abdominal obesity, and select the acupoints for the embedding therapy. It can provide the new theory for treatment of the middle aged person's abdominal obesity.Method: 67 patients from the acupuncture department of the 1st affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM were selected according to strict diagnosis standards, adopting norm and exclusion criterion, with 35 cases in the adjusting the tripleenergizers acupoint catgut embedding group and 32 cases in the eliminating exuberant dampness acupiont catgut embedding group, the front group were treated by shanzhong, tianshu, yinjiao, zhigou, zusanli, guanyuan, the other one by quchi, tianshu, yinlingquan, fenglong, taichong. All cases were embedded with 1 ~ 1.5cm long catgut on acupoints by the used of No. 8 injection needles. Catgut embedding was conducted every two weeks with the totle treating course lasting up to 12 weeks, then observe the change of the weight, waistline, BMI, FPG, blood fat, insulin. Results:1. Total effects: to lose the weight, the treat group's total effective rate is 82.86%, the choose group's is 78.13%, and there has not the statistics sense(P>0.05);to lessen circumstance of waist, the two group's total effective rate are 91.43% and 81.25%, and there were the statistics sense (P<0.05)between the treat group and the choose group.2. Obesity index: the weight, mass body index(BMI), the waistline all decrease after treatment in the two groups, and in the treat group, losing weight has the statistics sense (P<0.05), reducing BMI and lessening circumstance of waist have the significant statistics sense(P<0.01);in the choose group, the 3 index have the statistics sense(P<0.05). At lessening circumstance of waist, there has the statistics sense(P<0.05) between the treat group and the choose group.3. Laboratorial index: FINS, HOMA-IR, CHOL,TG decrease, HDL increase after treatment in the two groups, and there has the statistics sense(P<0.05);there has the statistics sense(P<0.05) at facet of HOMA-IR between the treat group and the choose group.4. Relativity: The correlate analysis among HOMA-IR, weight, waistline, BMI made it clear that two of these indexes assume positive correlation(KR>0, P<0.05), HOMA-IR extremely correlate to waistline, BMI second, weight end.5. The Waistline, weight and BMI changes in the trends : the two group's waistline have reduced trends in the course of treatment, the waistline differences are statistically significant (P<0.05), in paragraph 1, 2 course there is not statistically significant differences waistline reduction in the two groups (P>0.05) , But the treat group compared with the choose group has statistical differences at last course (P<0.05);the weight, BMI gradually declined in the treatment process, the former two courses has dropped more, and the third course of decline slowed. The difference of weight, BMI between the treat group and the choose group is not statistical significance in the total course (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. Two kinds of the therapy can treat the middle aged people's abdominal obesity bylosing weight, reducing BMI, lessening circumstance of waist, and the effect of the adjusting triple energizer by acupoint catgut embedding is better than that of the other therapy at the shorten waistline.2. Insulin resistance is one of the important reasons of glycometabolism and lipid metabolism disorder. Two kinds of the therapy can improve the condition of the insulin resistance, so both of them can avoid the happening of the disorder. And the former is better, too.3. Acupoint catgut embedding can amend abnormal lipid metabolism, significant reduce CHOL, TG;rising HDL.4. The correlate analysis among HOMA-IR, weight, waistline, BMI made it clear that two of these indexes assume positive correlation, HOMA-IR extremely correlate to waistline, BMI second, weight end .5. The study the change regularity of weight, waistline, BMI for three courses, approximately observe that weight declines obviously in the earlier, then the rate gradually down. The changes of the waistline are different from the patients' primary weight, and vary dramatically. So, the reduction of weight cannot be equal to the shortening waistline.
