Objective: Ascites is the common complication of ovarian cancer. Detecting several markers in different ways can raise the diagnostic accuracy of ascites. So our study carried out thinprep cytological test and detected CA125 by immunohistochemistry SP method, in the meanwhile, CA125 and IGFBP-2 protein levels of in serum, peritoneal fluid were determined by enzyme-linked immunospecific assay. Our experiments attempted to achieve a significant improvement in diagnosing ovarian cancer. We can provide the evidence for diagnosing and curing the ovarian cancer by this study.Methods: 75 women were recruited from our Hospital between March 2004 and January 2006. Of those, 25 women had malignant ovarian tumors, 25 women had benign ovarian tumors and 25 women had other gynecological disease as control. (1) There were 16 cases of serous adenocarcinoma, 3 cases of mucinous adenocarcinoma and 6 cases of other carcinoma.
