The Analysis Of The Essential Oils And Fatty Acids In Radix Ranunculi Ternati By GC-MS

Radix Ranunculi Ternati is dry earthnut of Ranunculaceae plant-Ranunculus ternatus Thunb., and it is mainly distributed in some regions of China, such as Anhui province, Zhejiang province, Jiangxi province, Hunan province, Guizhou province, Shaanxi province, Guangxi province, etc. Radix Ranunculi Ternati have been reportedly used for eliminating heat, detoxicating, removing turgescence and for treating scrofula, tuberculosis faucitis, lymph cancer, hypothyroid tumour and galactophore tumour, etc^[1,2] There are no detailed report dealing with the essential oils and fatty acid composition of it up to now.There are two Parts in this thesis:Part one: Review1. Study survey of Radix Ranunculi TernatiIt includes medical history, resource distribution, chemical composition summary, pharmacological research and quality study progress of Radix Ranunculi Ternati.2. Survey of the essential oils in plantIt includes quality and distribution, chemical composition and pharmacology research, extraction, identification of the essential oils in plant.3. Study survey of fatty acidsIt involves extraction, derivatization to methyl esters, separation, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis of fatty acids.Part two: Research papersIn this part, four departments are involved.First, The extraction of the essential oil in Radix Ranunculi Ternati and the analysis of its chemical composition by GC-MS.The essential oil in Radix Ranunculi Ternati was extracted by steam distillation and ultrasonic-steam distillation respectively. They were analysed by GC-MS and were identified by comparing the mass spectra with NIST.
