Ovarian carcinoma is one of the most common causes of cancer death in women. Patients often become cisplatin resistant and respond poorly to available cytotoxic agents. Therefore, discovering novel treatment protocols for ovarian carcinoma is vital. Genistein, one kind of phytoestrogen rich in soybean, has been confirmed to be an active anticancer agent according to many epidemiological investigations. Recent study indicates that it may sensitize some drug-resistant carcinoma cells to common chemotherapy. But it remains unknown whether genistein can sensitize the sensitivity of drug-resistant ovarian carcinoma cell to cisplatin. According to the reason above, we studied the effects of genistein on proliferation, apoptosis, morphological alterations and cisplatin sensitivity of drug-resistant ovarian carcinoma cell SKOV-3 and their possible mechanisms.PART 1: Effects of genistein on proliferation, apoptosis, morphological alterations and cisplatin sensitivity of drug-resistant ovarian carcinoma cell SKOV-3.MTT assay was used to analyze growth inhibitory effect of genistein...
