Salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma(ACC) has a characteristic of perineural invasion, the studies on the characteristic of perineural invasion of this kind of tumor have emphasized the tumor cell's peculiar chemotaxis and adhesion to the nerve tissue for a long time .Recently some studies have found that this kind of tumor could recruite nerve fibre or neurite directional outgrowth to the tumor before perineural invasion occurs . This kind of tumor usually invade peripherial nerve which is sheathed by myelin deriving from Schwann cell . There are still no reports on the effect of Schwann cell on the perineural invasion and the effect of neurotrophins in it.
