Objective To investigate the correlation of hypoxia-inducibale factor-1α (HIF-1α),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and micro-vessel density(MVD) in adnemyotic tissue. Methods The expressions of HIF-1 a protein and VEGF protein in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis and normal endometrium were detected by immunohistochemistry using SABC.Results (1)During the proliferative phase HIF-1α was not or weakly expressed in eutopic and normal endometrium, but moderately or strongly expressed in grandular cells of ectopic endmetrium, while during the secreory phase its expressions were increased dramatically in all speciments, and the expression ratr of ectopic endometrium was higher than that of eutopic endometrium and the latter was higher than that of normal endometrium(p<0.05 respectively). (2)The expression of VEGF was gradually and significantly increased in the normal and eutopic endomerium and ectopic endometrium(p<0.05 respectively), and its expression rate in secretory phase was higher as compared with proliferative phase in both eutopic and normal endometrium, but in ectopic endometrium it had no significant change in the two phases.(3)MVD was gradually and significantly increased in the normal and eutopic endomerium and ectopic endometrium(p<0.05 respectively),(4)the expression of HIF-1α protein correlated significantly with the expressions of VEGF protein...
