Objective(1) To investigate the level of serum vascular endothelial growth factor and soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 in women with pre-eclampsia and eclampsia and discuss its roles in the pathogenesis of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia.(2) To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and membrance-bound vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 in human placenta of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia and discuss its roles in the pathogenesis of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia.Methods(1) Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor and soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 in peripheral venous blood in women with pre-eclampsia and eclampsia (study group) and women without pre-eclampsia (control group). (2) Expression and localization of vascular endothelial growth factor and membrance-bound vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 in placenta tissue were measured by immunohistochemistry.Results(1) Study group has higher level of serum sVEGFR-1 than control group(P<0.01). (2) Serum level of VEGF was lower in study group than that in control(P<0.01). (3) Serum level of sVEGFR-1 of women without preeclampsia were positively correlated with gestational age (r=0.508,p<0.05), whereas those of preelclampsia...
