OBJECTIVE : To investigate the expression of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptor kinase insert domain-containing receptor (KDR) in human laryngeal carcinoma with on growth and metastasis.METHODS: 42 cases of laryngeal carcinoma tissue and 28 canses para-cancer tissue, were employed in the study. Used RT-PCR to exame 12 fresh laryngeal carcinoma tissues and 12 cases of para cancer tissues of VEGFmRNA and KDRmRNA expressions. The others were applied the immuno-histochemistry method to detect laryngeal carcinoma tissues and para-cancer tissue and their expression of the VEGF, at the same time, we would be tested microvasacular density (MVD). RESULTS : The positive expression rate of VEGF and MVD in laryngeal carcinoma group was higher than in para-cancer, the differences are significance (P < 0.05). The positive expression rate of VEGF and MVD between the neck lymphatic nodes and non-metastasis group of lymphatic nodes: the former is higher than the later. There are no...
