Objectives:China has suffer from hepatitis B virus infection severely and confront the worst situation in the world. According to the epidemiologic investigation, there are nearly 0.12 billion (about 9.09%) people in main land China were HBsAg carriers, and chronic hepatitis B patients are about 30 million. Therefore, Hepatitis B is one of the major infectious diseases threatening people's health. A portin of the hepatitis B paitents will develop to cirrhosis, liver failure or liver cancer. The conventional and routine treatment can just meliorate symptoms but cannot cure the hepatitis. Starzl performed the first liver transplantation in the world in 1963. From then on this operation developed quickly. Accompany by the newly developed anti-rejection medicines and improving intensive care level, liver transplantation is becoming a kind of common operation in China since 1990. The success rate reaches 95%. One-year surviving rate can get 90% after this operation in benign liver diseases. Three-year surviving rate is 80.5%.
