Eighteen compounds were separated from the fruits of Ailanthus altissima by using open-column, preparative TLC and HPLC methods et al.On the basis of physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic analysis, fifteen compounds were identified as: 1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-7-hydroxy-1 -( 4-hydroxy-3 -methoxyphenyl )-6-methoxy-2, 3-Naphthalenedimethanol ( 1 ), 6, 7-dihydroxy -coumarin ( 2 ), Vanillin ( 3 ), Stigmast-4-ene-3, 6-dione ( 4 ), β-sitosterol ( 5 ), 9, 19-cyclolanost-23 ( Z )-ene-3β, 25-diol ( 6 ), 6β-hydroxystigmast-4-en-3-one ( 7 ), Stigmast-4-ene-3β, 6β-diol ( 8 ), 5α, 8α-epidioxyergesta-6, 22-dien-3β-ol ( 9 ), 2β, 20 ( S )-dihydroxydammar-24-en-3-one ( 10 ), Daucosterol ( 11 ) , 3-epi-ursoloic acid ( 12 ) , 11β, 20-epoxy-1β, 2α, 12α-pentahydroxypicrasa-3, 13 ( 21 )-dien-16-one ( 13 ), L-evonymitol ( 14 ), D-mannitol( 15 ). Among them 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12,14,15 were isolated from the genus and 13 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
