The roots or roots barks of Moms alba L. that belongs to Moraceae, are the only resource of Traditional Chinese Medicine "Sangbaipi" recorded in the Pharmacopecia of People's Republic of China (ed. 2000). As a commonly used drug for resolving phlegm, promoting pus discharge and subduing carbuncles. The author has investing- ated the chemical constitutes, fingerprint, and its quality determination. In this thesis, the chemical constituents of the extracts with ethanol and acetone from root bark of moms alba were studied, 12 compounds were isolated with silica gel, polyamide, sephadex LH-20, preparation HPLC etc. on the basis of analysis of UV, NMR, MS data and measuring of physic-chemical characters, their chemical structure were elucidated as kuwanon G (1), limonianin (2), oxydihydromorusin(3), moracin M (4), betulinic acid(S), 6, 4'-dimethoxy-5, 7, 3'-trihydroxyisoflavone(6), 7-methoxy-5, 4/-dihydroxyflavanonol(7), liriodendrin(8), 3-acetyl-α-amyranol(9),α-amyranol(10),β-sitosterol(11), daucosterol (12), respectively. Of all these compounds, compound 2,5 were isolated for the first time from Morns alba L.To establish the analysis method of Cortex Mori, 34 bathes of herbs, 6 batches of extracts and 6 batch of preparations' fingerprints were studied by means of" The Similarity Calculation Soft of Fingerprint Chromatography of Traditional Chinese Medicine". The thesis also establish the finger print for the herbs, extracts and the preparations, and the peaks have been pinpointed. To establish the quality determination method for the herbs, extracts and the preparations.
