Experimental Study Of Triclabendazole And Praziquantel On The Treatment Of Rats With Pagumogonimus Skrjabini

[Objectives] To determine the therapeutic effects between Triclabendazole and Praziquantel on the treatment of rats with pagumogonimus skrjabini ; To explore the mechanism of the two drugs on killing paragonimus.[Methods]30 rats were randomly divided into six groups: Control group A and B, Triclabendazole treatment group A and B, Praziquantel treatment group A and B. There were 5 rats in every group. The 30 rats were each injected through abdominal cavity with 15 metacercariaes of pagumogonimus skrjabini. Rats of treatment group were treated in 30 and 60 days after infection with Triclabendazole and Praziquantel respectively. Rats were dissected on the third day after treatment in the two experiments. Counting No. of worms recovered and No. of worm cysts, calculating worm recovered rate and worm reduction rate ,and comparing with control group. Data were analyzed with SPSS13.0 statistic software. In addition, the worms recovered of the two experiments were observed under anatomic microscope and electron microscope.[Results] Six of ten appeared anorexia, salvation and waterly diarrhea in the Praziquantel treatment group (including group A and group B) during the two experiments, but the rats of Triclabendazole treatment group had no any side effects. There was significant side effects between the two treatment groups(test of exact probability by fourfold table,P=0.01063). During the first experiment (30 days after infection), there was significant worm recovered rate between two treatment groups A and Control group A (P<0.05) . There was no significant in the worm reduction rate between Triclabendazole treatment group A and Praziquantel treatment group A (P > 0.05) .
