| As a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, the seeds of Descurainia sophia (L.) Schur. have some functions of antitussive and diuresis, which are mainly used in the treatment of blood circulatory system, urinary system and respiratory system diseases. The modern pharmacology has proved that the seeds of D. sophia have broad pharmacological activities, including antibacterial, diuretic, vasodilator, decreasing blood lipids and wound cicatrisation properties. The cervical cell line experiment indicated that low dose extract of D. sophia displayed very high anti-tumor activity, and the mouse experiment in vivo also proved that it had the inhibitory action to the ascites carcinoma. However, the researches about anti-tumor activities of D. sophia against the cell lines such as NCI-H460, SF-268 and SGC-7901 still have not been reported. Two parts are contained in this paper. First, the seeds (4500g) of D. sophia, which were purchased from market , and were air dried, crushed into power before extracted with alcohol (70%, 50L) at 75℃. This procedure was repeated three times a day (extracted 3 days) and the alcohol fractions were concentrated under reduced pressure at 45℃, then combined the residues together. The residues were mixed with water (1500mL) and extracted with petroleum ether and n-butanol, respectively. Four fractions were obtained, i.e. alcohol, petroleum ether, n-butanol and the aqueous solution. Essential oil of the seeds was obtained through steam distillation.Second, terpenoids were rich in the essential oil of the seeds and plants of... |
