ObjectiveTo explore the differences in risk factors of cardiovascular disease and clinical manifestation of coronary lesions between young(≤45)and elderly(≥65)cases with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methodsthe clinical data including results of coronary angiography of 33 young and 45 elderly CHD cases were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsSmoking and family history of cardiovascular disease were more common in young cases(P<0.05 or P<0.01) There were higher triglyceride levels and lower high density lipoprotein levels in young group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Inelderly group there were higher blood pressure, higher blood creatinine(Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels. Single—vessel lesions appeared more in young group, while multi—vessel lesions more in elderly group(P<0. 001, P<0. 01).CouclusiouSmoking, higher triglyceride levels, lower high density lipoprotein levels and family history of cardiovascular disease were important risk factors for young CHD cases compared with elderly cases. Both bad life style and genetic predisposition could help the development of CHD in youth. It is beneficial for the prevention of CHD to explore new noninvasive methods to screen the young with higher risks.
