Objective: The central corneal thickness (CCT) measured before and after operation for glaucoma to investigate its change and the relationship between CCT and intraocular pressure(IOP).Method:1. The study included a control group(41 eyes)of normals and a glaucoma group(51 eyes). In control group, eyes with injury, corneal disease, cataract were excluded , and systemic disease or family history of glaucoma were not included. From December 2004 to June 2005, the glaucoma group had 35 subjects(51 eyes), selected in Department of Ophthalmology of First Affiliated Hospital, Nan Chang University college of Medicine.2. A thorough Ophthalmic evaluation between the normal and glaucoma patients before the surgery, including visual acuity, slit lamp examination, CCT measurement using ultrasonic pachymetry , noncontact measured intraocular pressure, gonioscopy , examination of fundus , automated perimetry, and computer potometry.3. The glaucoma group had ophthalmic examination 1 week, 1, 3,6 month after the surgery. The normal had to be return 1 week, 1, 3, 6 month after the first examination . Statistical data analysis was performed with SPSS for Windows, Version 11.5.
