Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant cancers which do great harm to human and is at an increasingly suffering trend. The occurrence and development of malignant cancers relate much to human immunity function, especially cyto-immunity,thus comprehensive treatments including proper immunotherapy are essential. The size of tumor, the lymph nodes situation ,as well as CEA levels which relate to metastasis of tumor, are all important prognostic factors for breast cancer. Our study retrospectively investigates cytoimmunologic factors of breast cancer patients ,including CD3+T CD4+T DD8+T CD4+/CD8+ and its relationship with the highly prognostic factors to guide the use of immunotherapy. Objective: To investigate the cytoimmunologic factors and its relationship with the highly prognostic factors. Methods: One hundred and ten patients with breast cancer in Shandong Provincal Hospical between 2000 and 2005 are analyzed retrospectively. The clinical features, as well as the alternation of CD3+ CD4+T, CD8+T CD4+/CD8+ and its relationship with the mass size, metastasis of lymph nodes and CEA were analyzed respectively. Results: ?There were statistical differeces in the percentage of CD4+T CD8+T and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ between groups of different mass sizes(p<0.05),the percentage of CD4+T decreased and that of CD8+T increased; The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ went down accompanied by the increase of mass size. CEA increased as the mass size increased(p<0.05). (2)The percentages of CD3+T CD8+T in patients with metastasis of axillary lymph nodes[LN(+)] were significant higher than those without metastasis of axillary lymph nodes[LN(-)](p<0.05). The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in patients with metastasis of LN(+) was significant lower than those without metastasis of LN(-). (p<0.05). The percentages of CD4+T in patients with metastasis of LN(+) was higher than that without metastasis of LN(-),but no significant difference was showed(p>0.05). The CEA level in patients with metastasis of LN(+) were significant higher than those without metastasis of LN(-) (p<0.05).(3)The decrease of percentage of CD4+T and CD4+ /CD8+ were obvious in CEA(+) group compared with CEA(-) group(p<0.01),and CEA was significantly correlated to the percentage of CD4+T and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ (p<0.01).Conclusions: Disorder of cytoimmunologic situation exists in patients with breast cancer, and it is close correlated with the highly prognostic factors of mass size and metastasis situation of axillary lymph nodes.
