To cope with the therapeutic effects to 60 pous Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) patients in different groups treated with As2o3 and to inquire into the mechanism of As2o3, TNF-αof serum in APL patients were determined by using ELISA before and after treatment by As2o3. The following results were observed:1.Curative effect of As2o3 in pyretic toxicity prosperous group is 80.00%,in defociency of both vital energy and yin group is 76.70%, there are no difference between two groups (P>0.05) ;2. As2o3 is obviously improve effect in pyretic toxicity prosperous group's hemogram and bone marrow, there is significant deviation compare to before therapeutic (P<0.05) ;but there is no obviously improve effect in defociency of both vital energy and yin group's PLT, there is no significant deviation compare to before therapeutic (P>0.05) ;because defociency of both vital energy and yin patient's course of disease protraction, As2o3 is no obviously improve effect in PLT hemogram;3. TNF-αin APL is in highly expressing state than normal (P<0.05) ; there are no difference between two groups beforetherapeutic (P>0.05) ;because APL patients blood cell include lots of granular cell, lymphocyte, mononuclear cell, it's paraplasm exerete TNF-α;4. TNF-αin APL can be depressed by As2o3 after therapy ,but there is significantly difference between before and after treated by As2o3 (P<0.05) ; As2o3 can control malignant cell generation; there are no difference between two groups after treatmet (P>0.05), so the effect of As2o3 is same to two groups.We conclude that As2o3 is a truely effective medicine for APL and it plays a promising role in improving TNF-α.
