The component of traditional medicine eguals to clan chen, but the amount of it reduces by half. "Pujibenshi prescription" (it is compiled by Xu shu wei in Song dynasty and finally completed in 1253.)volume two recorded that ershen pill which is comprised of ginger four liang, jujube 49, myristica fragrans houtt four liang as well as malaytea scurfpea fruit two liang can treat weakness of spleen and kidney,paying no food .Diarrhea of which weak-spleen diarrhea is in major proportion is a familiar chronic spleen and gasoric disease. Sishen pill is widely used in treating weak spleen and kidney diarrhea, also named five night watches-diarrhea. Curative effect is marked. The research on the different function of ershen pill and sishenpill in treating diarrhea is rarely seen,so we decide to carry on a series of research on compatibitity of the two prescription in several aspects in order to offer theory foundation.The objective of the experiment is to explore to explore the different functions of ershen pill (ESP), "subtract ginger and jujube from sishen pill"(SGJSSP) and sishen pill (SSP) in treating diarrhea. Wistar Rat model of diarrhea was induced with rhubarb decoction. To observe the content of gastrin, motilin , secretive immunoglobulin A as well as interleukin-2 which were detected by radioimmunorassayand the intestinal propulsion change perfor -med by the three prescriptions. The effect of ESP,SGJSSP and SSP on wistar diarrhea of rats may regulate the contents of gastrinmotilin, secretive immunoglobulin as well as interleukin-2 to treat them and the three prescriptions all can decrease the charcoal powder propulsion rate. The different function of them may have to do with the factors following: (1)SSM is the best and ESP is the worst in increasing the motilin content and restrain the intestinal propulsion. SGJESP is the best group in increasing gastrin content.(2)SSM is the best group in increasing interleukin-2 content ,and SGJESP is the worst.(3)Identify the ssientificnature of SSM and Malaytea Scurfpea Fruit and Myristica fragrans Houtt.ginger and jujube are unimportant factors in regulate gastrin and motilin;they are important factors in improve the humoral immunity and cellular immune function through which the three prescriptions could treat them.
