The Observation Of The Clinical Effect Of Jia Wei Qing Jin Hua Tan Tang On AECOPD Therapy

OBJETIVEThe aim of the study was to assess the clinical effect of Jia Wei Qing Jin Hua Tan Tang on Acute Exacerbation Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (AECOPD), which affected clinical symptoms, pulmonary function, blood analysis and blood gas analysis. The result may offer guides in curing AECOPD with Chinese herb decoction of clearing heat and eliminating phlegm.METHODS60 patients of AECOPD in gradeⅠtoⅢ, who were in acute period within 5 days and in heat and phlegm stagnated syndrome, were selected from the outpatient and inpatient of The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM. Patients were randomly assigned to the treating group(group T) or to the control group(group C) on a single-blind basis. Group C was treated by taking slow-release aminophylline orally(0.2, q12h), injecting levofloxacin(0.3g, qd), taking ambroxol orally(3Omg, tid). Group T was treated by Chinese herb Decoction(Jia Wei Qing Jin Hua Tan Tang) besides the treatment of group C. Observation period was 10 days. After 10 days, symptoms, pulmonary function and blood gas analysis were observed.RESULTSClinical symptoms had been improved significantly in group T(P＜0.01)which has significant difference after 10 days compared with group C(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).As for the result of blood gas analysis, group T and group C could both improve the PH, P02 and reduce the PC02(P＜0.01). And there were significant differences in group T in improving PH and reducing PC02 compared with group C(P＜0.05).After the observation, there were significant differences in pulmonary function in FVC, FEV1 and FEV1％in both groups(P＜0.01). But there was no significant difference in group T compared with group C(P＞0.05). The result showed that the treatment of both groups improved pulmonary function.CONCLUSIONSCOPD is a disease with high death rate, which develops slowly. COPD affects patients' quality of life diversely. COPD has become a heavy financial burden for the society and a public heathy problem. Recently, study of COPD has developed a lot. A series of criterion of diagnosis and therapy have been set up. However, antibiotic and adrenotropic hormone are used widely, which lead to side-effects unavoidably. A number of reseaches have proved that TCM has little side-effect. As a result, TCM has become more and more important. The study observed the clinical effect of curing AECOPD with Chinese herb decoction (Jia Wei Qing Jin Hua Tan Tang) combination with western medicine. According to the result, the group T was better than the group C in improving symptoms, increasing pulmonary function and improving Ph and PC02. Moreover, the Chinese herb decoction had less side-effect. According to contain of the Chinese herb decoction, it cleared heat stasis and resolved phlegm. It was suitable for AECOPD according to the mechanism of AECOPD in TCM. The study offer a new method to cure AECOPD with Chinese herb decoction combining with western medicine.
