The Comparison Of High Risk Behaviors Related To AIDS Between The MSW Group And The Non-MSW Group Among Men Who Have Sex With Men

Background and Objective Men who have sex with men (MSM)contain gay,male bisexual,male transgender and male heterosexual who have sex with men.MSM areone of populations with HIV and AIDS high risk behaviors confirmed in internationalresearchers. The prevalence of HIV/AIDS has become one of severe sanitation problemsthat threatened the People'health, the families' harmony, the societies' stability and theeconomic development.The male sex workers (MSW) among MSM are the men who gainmoney or other substance recompense by offering sex service to the male or femalecustomers.As one sub-group among MSM, MSW have many demographic and ethologiccharacteristics and so on,which are different from the no-MSW.The purpose of the studyis to compare demographic and AIDS-relatived characteristics between the MSW groupand the non-MSW group, so we can provide gists for the establishment of the effectiveHIV/AIDS prophylactic measures.Method Target sample were adopted to obtain the sample, surveying the MSM inHaerbing,Shenyang,Nanjing,Shanghai,Zhengzhou,Wuhan,Xian,Chongqing,Chengdu City by anonymous questionwaire, testing HIV antibody. To comparedemographic and AIDS-relatived characteristics.SPSS11.0 statistics software is appliedto process the data.Results The MSM available questionwaires are 2250 (shares), who were tested onHIV antibody, and 264 MSW were included.The age and the education time of MSW group are both obviously less than that ofthe non-MSW group (P＜0.01). The percent of elementary and junior education,originally living villages or towns,manual labourer in the country,monthly income＜ 500 yuan or non-income is obviously more than the non-MSW group (P＜0.01).The average age having the fisrt the same-gender sexual intercourse,the firstopposite-gender sexual intercourse, the gay' first opposite-gender sexual intercourse ofthe MSW group out of marriage are all obviously smaller than that of the non-MSWgroup (P＜0.01).The accumulative same-gender partners: the accumulative same-gender sexualpartners,oral intercourse partners of MSW group are both more than that of thenon-MSW group (P＜0.05), anal intercourse partners,hand intercourse partners areobviously more than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.01). The partners in the previoussix months: the same-gender partners,hand intercourse partners,oral intercoursepartners,anal intercourse partners of the MSW group are all obviously more than that ofthe non-MSW group (P＜0.01). The partners in the last month: the same-gender oralintercourse partners is obviously more than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.01), theanal intercourse partners is more than the non-MSW group (P＜0.05). The gays'accumulative female sex partners and the female partners in the six months of the MSWgroup in singlehood are both more than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.05). Thepercentage of having the aptotic same-gender partners is obviously smaller than that ofthe non-MSW group (P＜0.01), the time of maintaining aptotic sex relationship of theMSW group is shorter than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.05). The percentage ofhaving aptotic female sex partners of the gays in the MSW group in singlehood isobviously bigger than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.01), and the number of thefemale partners is bigger than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.05).The percentage that the MSW group consider the condom can 100% guard againstHIV is bigger than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.05), the percentage that the MSWgroup have used condom during the same-gender intercourse is obviously bigger than thatof non-MSW group (P＜0.01). The usage of condom in the previous six months:thepercentage of using condom during the same-gender oral intercourse and anal intercourse of the MSW group are both bigger than that of non-MSW group (P＜0.01).The last usingcondom: the percentage during same-gender anal intercourse and during the opposite-gender sexual intercourse of MSW group are both obviously bigger than that of thenon-MSW group (P＜0.01). The using condom during other high risky sexualbehaviors:the percentage during buying the same-gender sex is obviously smaller thanthat of the non-MSW group (P＜0.01), the percentage during oral intercourse and analintercourse with gay knowed by meshwork is obviously bigger than that of thenon-MSW group (P＜0.01).Other high risky sexual behaviors that occur in the same-gender partners:thepercentage that attend group sex,have the experience of the sex abuse resulting inblooding,have gone other places in the country to have intercourse of the MSW group areobviously bigger than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.01), the percentage of bloodingduring intercourse is bigger than that of the non-MSW group(P＜0.05). The percentage ofbuy the same-gender sex of the MSW group is bigger than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.05).The percentage having using drugs of the MSW group is obviously bigger than thatof the non-MSW group (P＜0.01). The symptom relatived to STD is distinct,thepercentage of anus ulcer/soreness is bigger than that of the non-MSW group (P＜0.05).Conclusion The MSW group' demographic characteristics is the lowliness ofsocial class and educational level, the first intercourse age is smaller than that of thenon-MSW group at large, the same-gender sex partners,the female sex partners are bothmore than the non-MSW group.The condom knowledge about the HIV prevention of theMSW group is more than that of the non-MSW group, and the usage of condom is higherthan the non-MSW group.The HIV infection rate show no difference between the twogroups. When carrying out AIDS intervention, we should aim directly at the MSW'demographic and behavioral characteristics, so we can efficiently intercept the HIV/AIDSepidemic in the subgroup,and subtract the HIV/AIDS to spread toward to the MSM group and the common group.
