Obective To investgate the epidemiology of Hcv infection and thegenotype of the HCV virus. Methods Entry-exit people taking health examination in ShandongInternational Travel Healthcare Center were examined by ELISA from 2004to 2005, and 42 serum samples were detected to be positive. RT-nested-PCRwere used to amplify a product of 319bp in the NS5B region. Thesepositively amplified sequences were aligned by DNAssist 2.0 software andcompared with reported sequences in the Genebank byhttp://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/BLAST. Phylogenetic trees were mapped byphylip 3.65 software.Resultsâ‘ 42 serum samples were detected to be HCV antibody positive inall the people examined.â‘¡A product of 319bp in the NS5B region wasamplified from 11 of these 42 samples.â‘¢The 11 positively amplifiedsequences were classified into HCV type 1b.Conclusion The study has demonstrated that HCV-1b is prevalent strainin exit-entry people of Shandong Port and can give us more theoreticalinstruction on HCV epidemiological study and prevention of HCV infectiousdiseases.
