Syphilis is a chronic systemic disease which is caused by Treponema pallidum (abbreviated as TP). Syphilis is classified as B class infectious diseases in"Law of the PRC on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases", and is also one of the key monitoring infectious diseases in the entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau. In recent years, the number of reported cases of syphilis increased significantly, the prevalence of syphilis presents the fast rising trend. However, the monitoring syphilis data of the entry and exit personnel is very rare. Therefore, to strengthen the monitoring range and efforts of the entry and exit personnel syphilis is necessary, especially for the prevention of transmission of syphilis.Objective: In order to get a knowledge of the spreading and development trend of the infection rate of syphilis of the entry-exit personnel in Jilin city, and to confirm the group who are likely to get infected, syphilis tests results of 2008-2010 are analyzed to provide scientific evidence for the supervision and precaution for the infectious disease .Method: All international travelers were tested for TP at Liaoning port from 2008 to 2010.TRUST and TPPA are used to assay and confirm the infection of syphilis during the tests. SPSS software is used to perform data analysis. Chisquare test was applied for the comparison between frequency and proportion of categorical variables.Result: 2008-2010 Jilin Entry-Exit People syphilis infection rate was 0.82%, significantly higher than the national average of 0.24% points. Syphilis infections in men is higher than women, the rate of male infection to female infection could reach to the ratio of about 3.34:1, the level of syphilis infection in men and women is significantly different (P <0.01), female detection rate is significantly higher than men; young adults whose age were between 31-50 constituted the ratio of 79.56% in whole infection. Foreigners syphilis infection rates were significantly higher than that in previous years. The detectable rate of foreign people was the highest, and Jilin city has the highest constituent ratio in syphilis infections. Conclusion: Jilin City Entry-Exit People syphilis was higher than the national average level. More men than women were infected with syphilis, the laborers abroad and foreign businessman had the highest detection rate. Therefore, tt is recommended to strengthen supervising labor and immigration businessman. Publicity and consultation should be carried out to prevent syphilis.
